At Lakes Safeguarding, we are dedicated to protecting children from abuse and neglect. Therefore it is important that you are aware, that all staff joining your school - secondary and primary, nursery, playgroup, all roles involving working with children and young people require Safeguarding Training either at Induction level - within a week of joining your team or before if possible, or Level 2 refreshed every 2 years, usually at the start of a new academic year.
This course is an hour long course, the information is read through and studied by the staff member and the assessment completed and submitted, or it can be delivered online by one of our trainers, the assessment is then completed and submitted. All assessments are marked, results sent to management/SLT / Client with certificates, where appropriate.

.All staff within your employment should be trained to Level 2 as a minimum, this makes sure everyone understands and can recognise child abuse, how to report it and how to keep themselves and others safe.
Level 2 requires a refresher annually, covering all new legislation e.g. Keeping Children Safe in Education. The whole level 2 course is required to be completed every 2 years.
This is a full day course which is delivered online, and includes an assessment at the end. Certificates will be sent to the client / Manager / SLT along with all relevant certificates. Level 3 - This is a 2 day course delivered online. It is aimed at those members of staff who are involved in the direct Safeguarding and Child Protection work happening day to day.
The staff m embers must have completed Level 2 prior to Level 3, so they have a clear understanding of all the forms of abuse, including what we call the sub levels of abuse, they must have knowledge of KCSiE, and all the relevant legislation and be competent in their role regarding safeguarding and child protection.
Level 3 does refresh some of the elements mentioned above, but the main body of the course is regarding ICPC, RCPC, strategy meetings, the legal requirements within these arena's and their role within that arena. To establish a good understanding of all these elements the attendees will work through a case study, so they can actually work a case, make decisions and see the relevant outcomes based on their decision making.
At the end of the two days, the attendees will be required to complete a robust assessment, which will need to be submitted within the allocated timeframe. The assessments will be marked, certificates allocated if appropriate along with an evaluation report highlighting strengths, areas of possible improvement and any concerns that may have arisen during the two days.
